Rain gauges & Precipitation sensors

Precipitation, or just rain, is probably the most discussed meteorological phenomenon. People start complaining when it rains too much and start discussing the dryness in periods we had to less precipitation. Obviously this parameter is a quite often measured one. Professional measuring devices are available as well for measurement of parameters such like mm. precipitation, rain intensity and precipitation types (WMO code table 4680).

Observator offers rain gauges (precipitation sensors) based on the tipping bucket principle, Observator as well as RIMCO brands. Special care of both brands were taken on the bucket it selves. The special shape and the gold plated material of the bucket were chosen to ensure all water empties after each tip. The Biral range of present weather sensors, commonly used by Observator, is able to measure up to 50 different types of precipitation.
