Observator 100 years

Agriculture

Agriculture is the totality of economic activities whereby the land is used for the production of plants and animals for human use. Abiotic conditions are of great importance to agriculture, in particular the temperature, salinity, soil structure, food richness and water management. For example, permanent agriculture requires at least 200 to 400 mm of precipitation per year, depending in part on evaporation and the soil type.

Because precipitation is not always self-evident and sufficient, Observator supplies the Mesonet system. This system provides a fully integrated weather monitoring and warning system which can be used to provide highly accurate and targeted data on the development and presence of adverse conditions for crop spraying.

Besides the Mesonet system, Observator supplies many other meteorological solutions which can be used in the agriculture sector.
