Observator Instruments offers unique instruments for measuring currents and waves in open water, harbours, lakes, sees and in the ocean. Applications are, amongst others, the dredging industry, shipping industry, offshore platforms and scientific research.

Water currents and waves can be measured with a range of advanced instruments:

• SonTek SL500: Horizontal ADCP (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler) for measurement of a horizontal current profile.
• SonTek HydroSurveyor: Multibeam ADCP for measurements from a vessel. Application include mapping the current profile as well as the soil profile in an entire area.
• Nortek Aquadopp Profiler: ADCP for measurement of the vertical current profile from the bottom or from a (moving) buoy. When installed in a fixed under water position, also wave height and wave direction can be established.
• Miros SM-140-XX-OMC: Wave radar for the measurement of waves with radar. For use on a fixed platform or on a (moving) buoy or vessel. Measuring range up to 95 meter.
