Sandprobe

"Sand" means all abrasive solid particles in a pipe line: sand, silt and abresive particles. Sand production in (aging)wells and reservoirs causes the following potential consequences:

  • Flow lines erosion and gas release
  • Choke valve damage and flow control malfunction
  • Poor quality of discharged water
  • Leaking safety barriers
  • Perforations plugged and low production

A sand probe detects pipe damage in a early stage. Sand probe are used for wells, pipes and reservoirs which can produce sand or are likely to produce sand. The sand probe can counter the potential consequences of the sand presence in the pipeline. Observator has sand probes for several applications.
