Observator 100 years

Repair of intrinsically safe equipment should always be undertaken by the original equipment manufacturer

Tuesday 21 March 2017

Repair of intrinsically safe equipment should always be undertaken by the original equipment manufacturer or should be checked after repair by an appropriately certified organization. Observator is an ATEX approved manufacturer of the OMC-150 Intrinsically safe wind sensor, OMC-158 and OMC-158-II Zener barrier interface module.

No end user repairs or modifications should be undertaken on the Zener barrier interface module. Should the module malfunction it should be returned to Observator or a certified organisation for repair. The same applies for the wind sensor, no internal repairs should be undertaken by uncertified organisations. Should the cup or vane unit require replacement, then this can still is undertaken by the end used or other engineer. However, changing the ball bearings, replacement of the sin/cos potentiometer, proxi switch, etc are no longer allowed except by Observator or another appropriately certified organisation.

As a result, some of the spare parts for the OMC-150 have been removed from our external price list. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we count on your understanding.
