Observator 100 years

Observator will stop the email service for dataloggers

Tuesday 12 May 2015

The last 10 years our data loggers OMC-045 versions I, II and III, the OMC-040 and OMC-042 have proven to be a success. These loggers can send data using email and FTP. When data is send using email, the email server of Observator Instruments, in The Netherlands, is used to relay the email. Observator Instruments will stop this email service.

Previously, we communicated that this service would stop on March 1st 2015. But in order to meet some customers we have postponed this date. We have set a new date on July 1 2015. We will continue to offer the FTP option.

If you are using one of the dataloggers mentioned, please check the way you are sending data, using, the free of charge, configuration tool OMC-Programmer. If you are sending data using email, you need to change these settings a.s.a.p.

There are three options:
1. You will use your own email server that supports email relay
2. You will switch over to FTP
3. You will use the relay service (SMTP server) of your local GPRS provider

If you need help please contact Observator Instrumnets – Ridderkerk. Please note after July 1st, 2015 data send by email using the email settings of the Observator server, will not arrive any more.
