First tests MARWIS and NIRS31 winter 2014/2015

Wednesday 10 September 2014

MARWIS is a mobile road weather information system, which reliably and professionally measures road conditions and environmental data. Directly installed on a vehicle, the intelligent sensor takes 100 readings every second (100 Hz), continuously.

The NIRS31 is a non-invasive intelligent road weather information sensor which is part of the pole or part of bridge surpassing the motorway.

This winter the MARWIS and NIRS31 will be tested in The Netherlands on dry, damp and wet roads, on various asphalt and concrete types. Several companies which are active in winter maintenance service showed already interest and will be involved in these tests.
