Working at Observator Instruments

Observator Instruments, part of the Observator Group, is a relatively small, yet globally operating company with its headquarters in Ridderkerk, the Netherlands. We develop and supply measurement solutions in the field of meteorology, hydrology, air quality, and climate technology.

As an ISO-9001-2015 certified company, we apply the highest quality standards to our products and systems. From Ridderkerk, approximately 30 motivated employees work on the development (R&D), purchasing, sales, marketing, production, and after-sales of various innovative product lines in the field of environmental monitoring.

Since its founding in 1924, Observator has been dedicated to meeting the evolving needs of its customers. By pushing boundaries and developing new, innovative products, Observator has been a leader in the maritime sector for 100 years.

In addition to striving for progress, the company can rely on dedicated employees. CEO Robert de Vries: ‘Observator feels like a family business, in which employer and employees are good to each other. Everyone realises that we have to do it together.’

The informal and flat nature of the organisation is also a plus. ‘The atmosphere is friendly and that is partly why some people have been working here for more than 30 years,’ De Vries explains.
